"Mississippi Medicine Show" - Natchez Little Theatre

The "Mississippi Medicine Show" will take you back to the old steamboat days of 19th century Natchez when traveling shows pedaled their miracle cures along the mighty Mississippi River. The Natchez Little Theatre has been performing this old-time show for 30 years. Come join us for this pre-conference event. (Advance reservation is required.)

"William Grant Still: A Voice High-Sounding"

Judith Anne Still will present the life and achievements of her father, William Grant Still, the pioneering classical composer and conductor (2nd floor of the Natchez Convention Center).


Thursday, November 19, 2009 - 8:00-10:00pm

Concert Performance by the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra

The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra will present an evening of music by William Grant Still at the Natchez City Auditorium.


Friday, November 20, 2009 - 8:30-9:30am

Opening Reception

The "Music and the Arts: Still Our Only Future" opening reception will be held in the Main Hall of the Natchez Convention Center. (Food and beverage service will be provided from 8:30 to 10:30.)


Friday, November 20, 2009 - 9:30-10:30am

Welcome and Keynote Address

Conference Board Members will welcome conference participants and Aaron Dworkin, Founder and Director of the esteemed Sphinx Organization, will deliver the keynote address in the Main Hall of the Convention Center.


Friday, November 20, 2009 - 11:00-12:00 and 1:30-4:00pm

Presenter Sessions

Presenter sessions will be held in the 2nd floor suites of the Natchez Convention Center.


Friday, November 20, 2009 - 4:00-5:00pm

Rosalie Mansion Visitor Tour

A special group tour of Natchez's Rosalie Mansion will be offered to conference attendees who make an advance reservation. [Rosalie Mansion is in comfortable walking distance from the Convention Center.]


Saturday, November 21, 2009 - 9:00am-4:00pm

Presenter Sessions

Presenter sessions will continue in the 2nd floor suites of the Natchez Convention Center.


Saturday, November 21, 2009 - 6:00-8:00pm

Conference Banquet

An elegant banquet will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the historic Eola Hotel. (Advance reservation is required).

Farewell Brunch

A farewell brunch, hosted by the family of William Grant Still, will be held at High Cotton Catering across the street from the Natchez Convention Center. (Advance reservation is required.)
